D .005” Copper Shield
E Okoclear-TP Jacket
Construction
Conductors: 16, 19, and 22 AWG solid, soft bare copper wires.
Insulation: A thermoplastic compound, color coded per telephone industry
standards.
Core Assembly: Insulated conductors are twisted into pairs with varying
lengths of lay to minimize cross-talk. Pairs are oscillated into cable
or units with identifying non-hygroscopic binders. Concentric/oscillated
construction through 25 pairs and unit construction for larger cables. A
non-hygroscopic core tape is applied over the cable core as a dielectric
and heat barrier.
Shield: A .005” copper tape is longitudinally applied with an overlap
and corrugated to increase flexibility.
Jacket: The black jacket is
resistant to abrasion, moisture, weather and environmental cracking. It
meets the requirements of ICEA S-73-532. The jacket is surface printed
with year of manufacture, product description and sequential footage
marks at two foot intervals.
Applications
Low smoke, zero halogenated Okonite Communication Cables for transit systems
are designed for use in aerial and tunnel installations where these features
are desired. They are ideally suited for transit communications systems.

Notes: RTC cables are available, on special order, with a T-Screen®
or core separated construction for use with PCM type carrier. To order T-Screen construction, change first five digits of catalog number
from 704-03 to 704-33. In addition to "T-Screen" and "Jelly Filled" types
these cables are available pressurized, and in "Air Core" and
"Foam" constructions.
